Special maintenance should be limited only to some technical cases since all other machine shutdowns should be caused by anomalies found inside the bags placed into the center, e.g. pieces of metal larger than the machine can cut.
The machine can also be locked out when harmful materials are blocked at the entrance by the control sensors. Since there is no prior experience regarding this topic, we will make some assumptions, sending the population a series of information brochures during the course of at least six months after we have run the tests to establish the likelihood and type of errors that can be made.
Considering a scale of sorting errors from 1 to 365, and considering that the study indicates that each person could make an error 3 times a year, there would be a total of 1500 x 3 = 4500 errors a year.
30% of these errors will be directly eliminated by the user, aided by the indications given by the machine.
50% will be eliminated after first grinding.
10% will be eliminated by inverting the grinder rollers.
Of the remaining 10%, the equivalent of 45 machine lock outs, 25 could be reset by intervention of the technician assigned to unload the material from the center while the remaining 20 machine blocks must be handled directly by the special team sent out from headquarters.
This will take 1.5 hours for the trip plus 30 minutes for the repair. The hourly cost for repairs is approximately X € hour.
